OneWheel Pint (2019)

I never got the hang of the OneWheel Pint. In the carpeted hallway? Sure. Outside? I fell and sold it days later. I’d never fallen on any other wheels and this one was dangerous. It doesn’t ‘self-balance’ much. Losing your balance with your foot on the front is like accelerating with one foot while the other stays planted. I fell into the splits. There are also a ton of accessories to prevent nose dives and other dangers associated with this.

In 2021, new models were released so some of the issues were addressed. I’ll stick with my EUCs.

Riding safely in the hallway, but I never got the hang of this one and sold it.

The place where I fell.

Segway Drift (2018)

Ugh. Arrgh. These were promoted with a video that showed friends riding these outdoors to meet up. In reality, they were $500 (at the time) ‘e-skates’ that were only reliable on smooth surfaces. I sold them cheap and called it a day. Ninebot bought Segway and produces toys. Segway used to produce one quality product. (2018)

A quick vid of me indoors again really getting used to these. But they’re only this easy on smooth floors. The feeling is different on concrete. Sidewalks with any irregularity pose challenges. I stumbled a lot outdoors going over minimal cracks and uneven slopes.

Immotor Go

This e-scooter had the absolute best potential of any I’d owned. It had 3 wheels for stability and the the ability to program how far it traveled. That way you could allow someone to take a spin with confidence. It also included a horn, integrated bluetooth speaker and lights. Those are things most e-scooters don’t have or that have to be bought separately. The best part was that it didn't;t look like a scooter when folded. It looked like a vacuum cleaner. This flew under the radar where bulky scooters were not allowed.

The unfortunate aspect was that it wasn’t built well according to an owner that took it apart and inspected the guts. As a result, one rider was badly hurt when it abruptly stopped and threw him off in New York. He attempted to sue to no avail. The company shut down its American operations and now only sells in Asia. This left those of us with warranties, void. I sold mine despite it working well as a precaution, but it was a painful choice. I’d hoped this would continue to evolve but it didn’t.

Kennedy and I

On the set of a music video directed by Kamp Kennedy. I rode my EUC in the video. It was a fun opportunity and day.

Segway

Pics of some of my PEVs (Portable Electric Vehicles) that I’ve now sold. I loved my Segway i2 (the “Mall Cop” one). I had it since 2008 but over the years it became furniture. The batteries at $1K each were dead and it was dated. So I sold it cheap. Had I known that this model would be discontinued, I may have kept it as a collector’s item. But the EUC (Electric Unicycle) provides a similar glide, is modern, faster and smaller.

I owned a Segway i2 for about a decade since 2008. Here's a clip of one of my favorite rides on the bike trail, looking at the water.

EUC Riding on the Hudson River Bike Trail

The Inmotion V11 was the first EUC with suspension. Prior to the pandemic, I was getting good on my V10 because I rode it to the gym and home from work. Sans that routine, I got stale. Here’s me getting used to my then new, bigger suspension wheel with a fun song just because.
